Don’t let the name fool you. The Dog’s Eat Place is a historic restaurant launched into business in 1941. Visitors are allowed to walk into the restaurant through the front kitchen, through a section of seasoned beef to the dining section at the end of the building.

You can treat yourself to a lovely plate of tamales, steaks, and boiled shrimps. You’d be glad you did.

Visit the Jim Henson Museum.

No trip to the Mississippi Delta is complete without a trip to the Jim Henson Museum. Located at Deer Creek, this amazing museum is the place where the idea of Kermit the Frog was birthed back in 1955. Established in 1991, this museum celebrates the life’s work of Jim Henson.

The museum tells the famed story of how Kermit the Frog and the creation of the Miss Piggy, Gonzo and the other Muppet friends that featured on the 1969 Children’s Television Network’s Sesame Street.

Explore the Grammy Museum Mississippi.

This spectacular edifice is regarded as the birthplace of American music. The Mississippi Delta currently records the highest Grammy winners (and even nominees) than any other state in the country.
