  • 2 pie crusts (store-bought or homemade)
  • 6 cups of apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Prepare a pie dish with one of the pie crusts. You can use a store-bought crust or make your own.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well until the apples are evenly coated.
  3. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared pie crust, and dot the top with pieces of butter.
  4. Place the second pie crust over the filling. Seal the edges by pressing the top crust onto the bottom crust. Cut a few slits on the top crust to allow steam to escape.
